Have you ever held a bar of soap that smelled and felt so good that wanted to eat it?! Well folks… neither have I, until I got a bag full of handmade Currumbin Soap!
Suzanne Fletcher, of Currumbin Soap, loves soap. She loves it so much, that she recently started making and selling her own through her new business, Currumbin Soap, (Currumbin is the name of one of the beautiful areas here on the Gold Coast). Suzanne makes soap in small batches, using the old fashioned, cold pressed method and she makes sure that only the finest and purest ingredients make it into each bar of soap.
If you know me at all, you would know that I’m an ingredient snob and I also make sure that the products I buy are sustainable and ethical. I’ve used a lot of handmade soap… and I can’t say that I’ve loved them all! Some of them smell like a bottle of nasty perfume! But, Currumbin Soap meets and exceeds all of my quality expectations! The lists of ingredients on each bar of soap are pure and simple. Suzanne uses local ingredients when possible and uses mostly food grade ingredients (might explain why I couldn’t resist sinking my teeth into one bar… yes… it’s true). Currumbin Soap has no preservatives and even has a shelf life of six months (which is a good thing in my book). I was more than stoked to read on one of the packages of soap that it contained ‘sustainable palm oil‘. If you’re unaware of the palm oil industry, do a bit of research and you will find why it is so important to buy sustainable palm oil! Go Currumbin Soap for choosing to be ethical!
I tried four of the bars myself and gave the goat’s milk one away to a friend (I’m vegan, so I don’t use animal products, but all the other soaps would be considered vegan, if that makes a difference to you). I loved them all! I even used them to shave my legs with, and they were perfect. Using her soap was just slightly divine… Actually, it made it hard to get out of the shower and I found myself washing body parts twice, even though they were already clean, just because I needed an excuse to lather up that bar of soap again! My kids loved the soap too! (Although, they did not try to eat the soap, like I did).
Buying yourself handmade soap is a treat for yourself or a great gift idea for anyone! Especially if you’re not sure about what to get for someone… I mean, everyone uses soap, right (let’s hope so)? If you’re looking to purchase Currumbin Soap, you can buy Suzanne’s amazing handmade soap from anywhere in the world by ordering through her website, http://currumbincreeksoap.com or you can find out what she’s up to on her Currumbin Soap’s Facebook page . You can find Suzanne in person selling her soap at the jamming nighttime, Miami Marketta, which is the second Friday of every month in Miami, Gold Coast, Australia. All orders within Australia over $60 have free shipping and international shipping fees apply.
