Kate’s Shovel-Down-Your-Mouth Banana Bread (Vegetarian/Vegan)

Bananananana Bread!!!! The babies can’t get enough of my banana bread.

Last week, I had two 12 month old babies come to visit on the same day I made this banana bread.  Unfortunately for Art, by the time he got home from work, there was only a little crumb left for him.  One of these darling little babies, who apparently doesn’t consistently eat much, was SHOVELING this stuff down.  I stole part of this recipe and made the rest up on my own.  One because I don’t eat eggs and two because I always feel like after eating traditional banana bread, it makes me feel a bit like I just downed a bunch of sugar.  I put ground linseed (flax) and shredded coconut, so it takes a bit longer for you to burn, doesn’t give you that sugar rush thing. Sesame Ginger Dressing (Vegan)

Sesame Ginger Dressing

I haven’t bought dressing from a shop in years… I’m not much of recipe writer or follower.  Ok, I’ve never actually stopped to write down ingredients from the food I make, but people are always bugging me.  So, through request, I’m finally going to start attempting to put some of my recipes down.  Since I’m not a recipe writer, feel free to merely be inspired by the recipes.  Change what you like, there’s no real way to mess up vegetarian food 🙂

Sesame Ginger Dressing (serves 2 or 3, depending if you like to load on the dressing like me or not).

1/4 cup Olive Oil

2 tablespoons Sesame Oil

1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar

1 squeeze of a Lemon (the apple cider vinegar usually makes it sour enough, but I like the lemon for the vitamin C)

1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger

1/4 teaspoon Sugar or alternative sweetener (maple syrup is yummy too!)

1 teaspoon Soy Sauce

salt and pepper to taste


Serve on a any bed of salad, I like my salad with this stuff on it:


-grated beatroot and ground carrots

-sprinkle on sesame seeds

-if you’re feeling like some fun, put some veggie meat stuff on it
